Frequently Asked Questions About Endermologie

How Does Endermologie Work?
Endermologie is a massage machine with two rollers that apply positive pressure to the skin while at the same time uses suction to redistribute skin and smooth dimpling. The benefits of Endermologie have increased circulation, relief of muscular pain, reduction of muscle spasms and cellulite. Endermologie has been extensively studied and approved by the FDA to specifically make the claim that it does reduce cellulite.

Does Endermologie Have Any Other Benefits?
Interestingly, there has been a benefit in using endermologie in post liposuction patients to decrease post-operative bruising and swelling. Depending on the extent of liposuction most people continue to have some degree of swelling for months. The use of endermologie in the early post-operative stage can significantly reduce the time that patients are swollen. Physiologically, the explanation for this is that during endermologie treatments there is an increase in local circulation and lymphatic channels which help in reducing swelling.

What is Endermologie?
Endermologie is the only FDA-approved technology for the treatment and reduction of cellulite. Endermolgie is a non-invasive technique that was originally developed in the 1980′s as a non-surgical method to treat scars in burn victims. These patients began to notice improvements in their cellulite and soon endermologie was considered by the FDA the first cellulite treatment.

Although loose skin can be a result of aging and pregnancy, one of the more common causes these days is large weight loss. The reward of losing large amounts of weight is better health. However, for most people, losing this weight leads to excess skin and fat. Body lift, also known as circumferential abdominoplasty, lower body lift, and belt lift, is a procedure designed to remove the excess skin and fat that results from having loose skin in the abdomen, back, and buttocks.

The incision is 360 degrees and results not only in a flat tummy but lifts the outer thighs and the buttocks. Ideal patients for body lifts are those whose weight has been stable for 4 to 6 months after their weight loss. Typically the body lift is the first stage in body contouring surgery, which may include brachioplasty (arm lift), breast lift, and thigh lift.

The body lift surgery takes 4 to 7 hours to perform. Body lift surgery is performed under general anesthesia and requires an overnight stay in an aftercare facility or hospital. Recovery takes 2 to 4 weeks and can resume all exercise at 6 weeks.
